Precise 3D Scanning in Warsaw

3D scanning services in Warsaw and the surrounding area

We know how important 3D scanning is for our clients as a key stage in the product design process. That’s why we offer professional 3D scanning services both on-site — at our headquarters (23 Instalatorów Street, formerly 9, in Warsaw) — and at the client’s location. We primarily use industrial-grade devices operating with structured light technology, which allows us to achieve a standard measurement accuracy of below 0.05 mm per 100 mm in a single scan. For large-scale components, individual point clouds are seamlessly merged into a complete model. Thanks to the use of special positioning markers, dimensional accuracy is fully maintained. In response to the growing demand for even higher precision, we have also introduced laser-based 3D scanning into our service portfolio.

3D Scanning – Costs

The minimum charge for 3D scanning is PLN 300 net (excluding reverse engineering). The default deliverable is an .asc point cloud file. We can also provide a 3D scan converted to a triangulated mesh (watertight or non-watertight, as required). We additionally offer comprehensive reverse engineering—converting the point cloud into a solid model saved in one of the standard 3D exchange formats. Unlike a raw scan, this model is built from elementary surfaces such as planes, cylindrical and conical faces, etc.

Industrial 3D Scanning

3D Scan

3D scanning is a non-contact method of measuring geometry—more precisely, the points lying on an object’s surface. As a result, the risk of damaging the scanned item is minimal. Typically, the only intervention is applying a special matte spray. The scan itself uses a lamp or projector to illuminate the object with structured light, and high-resolution cameras capture the image. Finally, using basic principles of optics, the software calculates the distances between the recorded points.

Applications of the 3D Scan

Depending on the intended use of the 3D scans, we can deliver the appropriate file type. Sometimes a scan is needed only for visualization or presentation—then it’s enough to clean up noise generated in the process and export the file. If the part is to be 3D printed as-is, with no changes to its geometry, a watertight triangulated mesh is required. Proper file preparation by our engineers is key to a successful 3D print. If the scanned geometry is to be manufactured on a CNC machine, full reverse engineering is needed: the scan is redrawn into a .STEP or .IGES (.igs) file, which is fully editable in CAD software.

Conversion of 3D Scan to Solid Model

Umożliwi to naszym inżynierom dokładne oszacowanie kosztu usługi oraz czasu jej realizacji.

3D Models for Further Editing

If the scanned part is to be produced by subtractive machining or injection molding, you’ll need an editable 3D model—for example, in a universal format such as .STEP, .IGES (.igs), or .SAT. A file prepared this way can be edited in any CAD system using standard operations—e.g., extrude, cut-extrude, sweep or sweep-cut along a path. Other edits such as split, scale, moving/offsetting surfaces, and many more are also possible. At this stage our engineers can modify the geometry to your specifications, sketches, or technical drawings.

Services tailored to your needs

3D Scanning in Art

Every artistic project requires an individual approach. That is why we also introduced scanning services tailored to the needs of creators and institutions. On a daily basis, we perform scans of both precise mechanical parts and digital 3D scanning of sculptures and museum exhibits. The scanning process for the manufacturing industry or aerospace sector is completely different from that used for artistic projects. Therefore, already at the initial consultation stage, we analyze the required measurement accuracy, the desired file format, and the budget allocated for the project. We offer comprehensive support—from technical consulting, through the 3D scanning process itself, to the final production of the object.

Same business day

We know how critical turnaround time is. That’s why we offer same-day 3D scanning in Warsaw. In many cases we can capture the part, process the data, and deliver a finished 3D model the same business day we receive the item. This helps our clients minimize downtime and move to the next project stage without unnecessary delays—an advantage especially valued in service-driven industries, and one that has earned us many long-term customers.
